The excitement started to build on Thursday, 17 November, when we collected, packed and organised our riders’ race packs – each pack signifying IMAGINE Charity’s mission to support those with Cerebral Palsy. With the race packs ready, we invited all our riders and representatives to a pre-event on Friday, 18 November. It turned out to be a very special occasion, where we could once again get together with IMAGINE Charity cyclists who have supported us over years plus we got meet all the wonderful new people who would be riding for us in this historic race. The evening was spent sharing stories, advice and motivation for the big day. Click here to see how the evening went.
When Cycle Challenge Sunday finally arrived, our cyclists were ready to ride for a purpose, and we were equipped to support them every step of the way. The route was challenging as always, and the hot Jo’burg sun made it essential for every rider to keep themselves safe and hydrated. In the meanwhile, IMAGINE Charity had a hospitality venue where riders could come and relax after the race – freshly made meals and beverages were served, allowing everyone to enjoy the rest of the day and support fellow riders.
We would like to thank every cyclist who took the challenge for IMAGINE Charity, and everyone who contributed to allow our cyclists to enter the race. Another thank you to our sponsors, MF Autobody Repairers, SIS Global and Palladium for the IMAGINE Charity Cycle shirts – your contributions are what allows us to continue supporting people living with Cerebral Palsy. To every IMAGINE Charity volunteer who spent the day cheering for our riders, and encouraging them to go on, we sincerely appreciate your dedication! Lastly we would also like to thank our organisers and everyone who had a hand in the preparation and set up for the day – it was a great success.
If you would like to find out more about the 947 Cycle Challenge, or if you’d like to get involved with IMAGINE Charity in any way, please email us at info@imaginecharity.com.

We have had a very productive busy few months and are looking forward to ending the year on a festive…
Imagine Charity hosted our inaugural golf day on 21 October 2016 in support of those living with Cerebral Palsy. The charity exists to make a real difference in the lives of those affected by Cerebral Palsy, aiming to minimise their difficulties and that of their caregivers. The day was a resounding success, the golfers soon getting into the swing of the day and opening their wallets generously.
Imagine Charity golf day was held at the pristine Steyn City Club house and golf course. Guests were treated to a superb Four-ball Alliance Tournament with golf-carts, a scrumptious Halfway House meal – followed by an elegant gourmet cocktail dinner at the end of the day, accompanied by excellent sponsored beverages.
Welcomed with an ice-cold beer after an enjoyable round of golf plus networking with clients and friends, guests were entertained by Michael Scholz, South Africa’s premier trick shot practitioner in action. Master of Ceremonies, legendary sportsman Fanie De Villiers, was his usual humorous self, putting guests at ease and challenging all to greater levels of generosity. The cocktail evening closed tastefully with expert guided whiskey tasting indulgence. As one of our guests commented, the charity “threw one of the best golf days he had ever attended”. The ambiance was incredible and we are grateful for everyone’s contribution, fun attitude and encouragement. Prizes were given out to the lucky winners on the day, alongside a raffle in which some great donations were given.
Congratulations to our top 3 Four-ball team winners of the day!
1st Prize: Darrel Baillie, Jacques Kok, Renaldo Bothma and Nazir Mohamed
2nd Prize: Michael Blatherwick, Daniel Blatherwick, Alasdair Hawley and Mitchell Hawley
3rd Prize: Barend Kok, Kevin Smith, Roger Govender and Joe Hartman
Imagine Charity thanks the golfers, prize sponsors, four-ball sponsors and staff for their support and making the day a triumph! We say thank you to our main sponsor SIS Global, individuals and the following businesses for their donations and prize donations toward the event: LSC Staffing Solutions, B3 Cricket Limited and PwC Exordia. With your help we raised over R200,000!
