WALK THE TALK – 24 JULY 2016

On Sunday, 24 July, Talk Radio 702 hosted their 15th Walk the Talk event at Marks Park, Emmarentia. Close to 60 000 entries were received this year, and Walk the Talk has become known as the largest mass participation sporting event on the continent.

We were happy to receive almost one hundred entrants – all walking to raise awareness for those living with Cerebral Palsy and to raise funds to buy a standing frame for Joelene, a young girl living with Cerebral Palsy.

Our walkers, along with thousands of others, took to the streets to walk for a cause in the 5km, 8km and 15km distances. We had a lovely day and enjoyed meeting and engaging with fellow walkers.

This year again, was extra special for Imagine Charity, as we were joined by Stuart Hawley, the inspiration behind Imagine Charity.

Hospitality was provided before and after the event, and all proceeds needed to buy Joelene’s standing frame were raised.

Our sincere thanks to all our volunteers who helped on the day and a special thank you to Talk Radio 702 and our walkers, who walked for our cause. We hope you will join us again next year, and help us continue to make a difference in the lives of those living with Cerebral Palsy.
