702 Walk the Talk – 26th July 2015

Not only is this walking event the biggest in Jo’burg, but with over 50 000 entries, it’s the biggest mass participation sports event on the continent and we were delighted to be a part of it again this year.

The theme for this year’s event was ‘walk for a cause’ which was ideal for our charity because we are a great cause to support! Over 100 participants supported IMAGINE Charity by walking to raise awareness for people living with Cerebral Palsy and helping the residents of the United Cerebral Palsy Association of South Africa (UCPA). It was an extra special walk this year as we had some of the residents join us on the walk in their wheelchairs as well as the staff of UCPA supporting the cause.

Our walkers along with many other Jo’burger’s braved the freezing cold weather on Sunday 2nd August 2015 and took to the streets to walk for a cause in the 15km, 8km and 5km distances. This year we provided hospitality before and after the event which proved to make the walk more enjoyable for all. Our sincere thanks to all our volunteers who helped on the day with hospitality, photography, etc. The new green IMAGINE t-shirts seem to have been a hit and it’s clear from the photos that they stood out really well.

Thank you to all those that Walked the Talk for our cause and we hope you will all join us again next year for the 702 Walk the Talk – the event where our primary focus is to give back!

We will be visiting the UCPA on 16th August 2015 to deliver all the goods collected from this event & look forward to sharing the photos from this day with you, we’re excited to give back and know the UCPA are looking forward to it too.

Thanks again to everyone that supported this initiative and helped us make a difference.
